Valentines Day

Valentine's Day
This is a holiday that has people feeling many conflicting feelings.  Those who are hopeless romantics are probably in heaven having a whole day potentially devoted to love.  Then we have the couples who stress about giving and or getting the perfect gift, wether or not they have been together very long.  Then of course you have your singles who stress for different reasons.  Those who long for a Valentine, those who hate the entire idea, and those who couldn't care less.
I love reading romance novels, and honestly this is the perfect time of the year for it, with all the love in the air...anyway I figured I would give you some random options for your reading enjoyment.

The Bridal Quartet by Nora Roberts (top left is first book)

Blackdagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward

Sex, Lies, and Online Dating by Rachel Gibson

Gabriel's Angel by Nora Roberts

Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James

The Trouble with Valentine's Day by Rachel Gibson

These are just some suggestions, and each one is a great read!  Check em out, and let me know what you think!

Jennifer Estep Just Announced...

I just saw this post from Jennifer, so I went to her website:
http://www.jenniferestep.com/2012/02/sold-baby-6/
then thought to put it on here...

SOLD, BABY …

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve sold three more books in my Elemental Assassin urban fantasy series to Pocket Books. Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!
This means that there will be at least 10 books in the series — these will be #8, 9, and 10 — or three more books beyond Widow’s Web. At this point, I don’t have any information about titles or release dates, but of course I’ll post those here on the blog as they become available.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to all the readers out there. Knowing that folks read and enjoy my books is always a humbling thing to realize, and the reaction to Gin and her adventures has been really wonderful. So thanks.
Meanwhile, I’m doing the happy dance. Huzzah!

Yay for Jennifer, and also yay! for all us readers.  I love love love the Gin Blanco series and can't wait for more!!!

Random Book

Okay, so I work at a Library, and occasionally I see a book and it catches my eye.  Tonight I was putting away children's books and this one caught my attention, so I picked it up and read it.
That Book Woman by Heather Henson.

This was a very sweet book written from the perspective of a young boy who watches his sister read all the time.  He doesn't understand why she wants to read so much, and doesn't like it when a stranger with books comes and his father offers to trade berries that the young boy worked to pick, for the books.  I love how this story plays out and sincerely wish for this for many people.

I often have people ask me why I read so much, and most don't understand what I get out of it.  I have even been poked at because I read so much.  I personally don't care; I am not offended when people shake their heads at me.  If only they knew the joy that came from reading they would understand.  I love getting lost in a fictional world, and 'making new friends' with the characters.  I know that is an odd way to describe reading, but I truly get caught up in the lives of the characters.

Now, I know that Vampires are not real. I am not delusional, but I do enjoy reading about them and fantasizing about what it would be like to live in a world of vampires, or werewolves, or fearies, or magic, etc.  Don't get me wrong I don't actively hope for these things, I just enjoy pretending.

Most children play pretend all day long or have imaginary friends; I think that my reading (excessively) is my way of playing pretend, that’s all.  Anyway long story short, read the above book, truly it is a wonderful homage to all the people who love reading!

Tell me of any random books that you have read, and why you think they are special...
Tell me why you love reading...
